my first cameramy first camera

just the other day my coworker was asking if film cameras were still in production. everyone at the table actually had to stop and think about it. we all agreed no, but we could be wrong.

it was only natural that i would then read in the trade journal the next day that Shop & Stop were discontinuing its film processing service. sales and use of the service has declined, so why offer it.

one time use cameras are still produced. of course we now have one time use digital cameras. film is still produced and people still use film. my first camera was a 110 pink cutie. do you remember 110 film? it was an gift and yes, i still have it. i even have pictures from it.

so here's my confession: i just jumped on the digital bandwagon. yes, this gadget geek bought her first digital camera last year as a bday gift. and yes, it's pink (i know i talked about marketers offering pink items as a way to target women. i love pink, but i don't think marketers should assume that all women want pink electrics. another story for another time).

anyway, i had a Kodak Advantix and loved it. it had a preview screen so i could see the picture before processing. i could do 3 print sizes, color, & black and white. it was great. i remember seeing an ad for my new camera and it struck a chord in my heart.

so, i sold the Advantix on ebay and make the switch. i'm happy no doubt, but i do miss Fox photo sometimes. for those who are clueless watch Back to the Future.
